TRYING – EPK
-
"Trying" is a live audio-visual performance that explores grief and memory through the story of a young couple navigating the loss of a family member.
Filmmaker and composer Kyle Turgeon performs the score live — looping and layering cello, synth, and piano — while projecting a live-assembled, chance-based version of the film behind him, creating a unique experience for each audience, each night.

• PROJECTION: The space must be completely dark. Venue-provided screen and projector are ideal, but the artist can supply if needed.
• SOUND: Venue must provide sound. Artist will send a pre-mixed stereo feed.
• SPACE: 8' x 11' for gear setup needed if using venue projection, 8' x 18' needed if artist supplies projection
• SETUP TIME: 2-3 hours including load-in and soundcheck, depending on venue needs.
For quick-turns between sets, it’s possible for me to pre-build my set sidestage/backstage and fly in my gear to expedite setup. I can do a 20 minute change-over in this fashion.
• SHOW LENGTH: 1 hour 15 minutes including pre-show group sound exercise & post show conversation.
